When the Moon Turns Green
Oil on acm, 20” x 24”, 2023
When the moon turns green,
From mountains far unseen,
My friend flies in gold and red,
With trailing tail and wings outspread,
Together we watch the gleaming green,
Of the strange moon’s sheen,
Then off to mountains he goes,
And I to my valley,
One moment there, one moment not,
“See you soon” I wave,
“Same place” he smiles back,
Parting paths to one day convene,
When the next moon turns green.
